Lending Effective Aid Via Enduring Support
|
The Heroes we support often write and speak of how much LEAVES and their allies meant to them.
Here are some quotes from our Heroes.
"Thank you for everything you are doing for us out here. The support of L.E.A.V.E.S. has been amazing."
I want to thank you for everything you have sent me so far, it’s awesome. Especially the Lessons and Cd's I am getting great use out of them. Oh, and I can't forget those great brownies you sent me, thank you so much, everyone loved those :) I wish I could send you stuff to show my thanks, but unless you want dirty socks or a half eaten granola bar I can't do much.
Hey thank you and everyone at L.E.A.V.E.S. for the care packages. I can't thank you enough really. I'm very thankful for your support and everyone else back home. I love getting mail. :-)
This was the best Christmas I have ever had.
I appreciate all the letters and support your organization sends him. Thank you so much for his recent gift, that is so kind.
Got your package and letters yesterday. I think it’s awesome that you guys spend the time to do what you do. We always love to get letters from people.
I think you have done more for me than anyone except my parents.
It is more than just the fun trips; I can tell you guys really care about each one of us.

A referral letter from a squad leader who used our Ally
program during his last deployment.
To whom it may concern:
My name is Matthew T Rensi. I served in the United States Marine Corps for
four years. In all I did three deployments to the Middle East, two of which
where to Iraq. I spent two years with 1st F.A.S.T. Co. and the remainder
with 3/5 Kilo Co. In my enlistment I reached the rank of Sergeant and was a
squad leader on my last deployment to Iraq.
The program L.E.A.V.E.S. is a well founded aid organization that I have had
contact and experience with directly. On my last deployment I was
introduced to the L.E.A.V.E.S. organization and took part in their
sponsorship program.
L.E.A.V.E.S. is non-profit and is sound spiritually. They offer help to those
troops deployed and in stressful situations that would otherwise not receive
any help.
There are few things that can kill moral in an individual like the lack of mail
and correspondence with the rest of the world. It is always a huge letdown
to not receive anything at mail call. L.E.A.V.E.S. teams troops, who would
otherwise not have anyone writing to them and listening to their stories, up
with an ally. This ally is responsible for sending packages and writing the
troops.
As a leader, there were few things I appreciated as much as the L.E.A.V.E.
S. program. Those Marines I had who did not have someone writing them
always seemed a bit more depressed than the rest. I utilized the program to
it’s fullest, simply submitting names and addresses of individuals who were
struggling or who had not received anything to lift their spirits. Within
weeks, mail and packages containing all the good stuff you miss on
deployment began to show up. It was a blessing and an excellent
leadership tool to lift Marines’ spirits so that they could focus on the job at
hand.
I highly recommend L.E.A.V.E.S. to any small unit leader who is looking out
for his men and making sure that not one slips through the cracks. It is easy
and effective.
Sincerely,
Matt Rensi
